So You (Don't Particularly) Want to Be a Farmer (click here for article)


This is a bit long but definately well worth the read. When I started reading it I realized how much I related to this yearning to be a farmer mentality or "the farm brain worms." We live in the country and spend a fair bit of time gardening growing our own food. Love every minute or this rewarding lifestyle but I can't escape a nagging yearning for chickens, a goat or two would be nice, maybe a cute sheep or two to mow the lawn. Its seductive this idea. Maybe next time I reach across the table to my loved one my words of endearment will echo this desire with "I love chickens."
